⚠️ How New U.S. Tariffs Impact Your Jamaican Shopping ⚠️
Share
What's Changing?
The U.S. has implemented a substantial tariff on many goods imported from China and Hong Kong. They are also eliminating the "de minimis" exemption on May 1, 2025 so even small orders (under $800 USD) will be subject to tariffs and duties. Shoppers will soon see prices rise dramatically on many items, especially apparel, accessories, and merchandise typically manufactured overseas.
Why Does This Matter?
Most Jamaican businesses that do Jamaica wear (such as the Bob Marley foundation) also rely on China for some of the goods they make. For those types of items you will likely see prices increase (to possibly more than double) for those Jamaican items sold in the U.S. This means on those goods, you might have to pay a tariff (tax) to your government if you get it later than May 1, 2025.
Does this affect you?
Non-US customers might see increases on some items, but this mainly affects customers in the USA, and it only really affects pieces that had materials coming from China/Hong Kong.

But there's good news:
At 876 Worldwide, we remain fully committed to keeping Jamaica accessible, even amid these new challenges. We served you through COVID and we won't let this little shake-up spoil the vibes.
Here's what we're doing:
✅ Fair Prices. No Middleman Markup: We will absorb as much of any tariff-related cost increases as we possibly can unlike some retailers who will increase your costs by more than theirs. Our goal is to delay or minimize any price increases.
✅ Transparency and Savings: While U.S. retailers are already paying the high tariffs, you can still use the de-minimis exception before it goes away. If tariffs are reduced or removed in the future, you'll see those savings directly reflected in our prices.
✅ Know what you're buying: We're committing to providing information on all of our products so that you'll know what to expect. Look out for a "Made in China" note so you know what you're getting into.
Why Shop with 876 Worldwide Right Now?
