Post Hurricane Melissa Update
Share
As many of you are aware, the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa through Jamaica has left a trail of historic devastation. The storm’s catastrophic impact has resulted in billions of dollars in structural damage across the island, severely crippling the national infrastructure we rely on.
We are Jamaicans, selling from Jamaica, unlike most ‘Jamaican’ stores online, which are foreign companies selling our aesthetic.
Here in Montego Bay, the ‘second city’ and bedrock of Jamaica’s critical tourism sector, our ports have resumed operation and our infrastructure is being rebuilt. Our local partners and operators have, without exception, been devastated. Even the Bob Marley foundation has struggled with the scale of loss for the past 6 weeks, to say nothing of the small businesses that have not yet reopened.
As a result, we are facing nigh insurmountable challenges at this time:
- Production Halted and Delayed: Brands are straining to salvage and replenish stock. Most products are unavailable until further notice.
- Logistics Unavailable: We always went the extra mile to ensure that anyone, anywhere could get a piece of Jamaica. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to overextend during times such as these. Shipping will be restricted to certain locations.
Because of this tragic reality, we are unable to process orders, fulfill shipments, or maintain regular communication channels as we once did.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we, our people and our partners rebuild stronger. We will resume and expand operations as and when we can.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the immediate restriction of all 876 Worldwide sales and operations- with the exception of the following territories:
- Jamaica
- United Kingdom
- Canada
For those of you not in the above countries, who still want a piece of Jamaica, or to support Jamaican businesses, we hope to resume backorders soon.
One Love.
